Credit Card Interest Rate



Different Credit Card Issuers charge different interest rates or APR on their credit card balances.  Most credit card issuers charge between 15% to 25% interest rate on the credit card balance.

If you have a credit card balance of $1,000, your annual interest charges would likely be around $150 to $250. The interest charges are calculated on a daily basis.

If you have a credit card balance of $10,000, your annual interest charges would likely be around $1500 to $2500.  As you can see, credit card companies make a ton of money from cardholders.

In addition to the interest charges, credit card companies also make money from late payment fee, credit card annual fees, NSF Non-Sufficient Fund Fees, Merchant Fees and many others.
