How many FICO Scores are there?

Question:  How many FICO Scores are there?

Answer:  Between all three major credit rating bureaus, there are 28 FICO Scores that are commonly used by lenders.  The most commonly used credit score is the FICO Score 8.  FICO recently released FICO Score 9 and it’s designed to make lending even faster and fairer for consumers.  FICO Score 2, FICO Score 4 and FICO Score 5 are mainly used for mortgage lending.

FICO Scores are calculated from many different credit data on your credit reports, but there are 5 main categories of information they used to calculate the credit score:

  • Payment History (35%)
  • Amount of Debt (30%)
  • Length of Credit History (15%)
  • New Credit (10%)
  • Credit Mix (10%)
